The City of Langley is the small one in the middle, with its own mayor and six councillors. (The much bigger neighbour is the Township. Our City vs. Township page explains the split.) Voters picked a new council in the October 2026 election, and this page is being kept up to date as the changeover happens.
Elected in 2026
According to the City’s 2026 election results page, these people were elected. The page was marked as official results when we checked, and the new council starts at its inaugural ceremony and meeting on November 2, 2026, at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers, per the City’s meetings page.
Mayor: Delaney Mack
Councillors:
- Andrew Flitton
- Michael Hylands
- Scott Thompson
- Rick Orlando
- Simi Rajput
- Heather Jenkins
The City’s results page also lists two school trustees elected by City voters, which we’ll cover on our school board page.
How to reach council
Until the new council is sworn in, the City’s own council page still shows the outgoing members. What it says about reaching council as a group is the same either way:
- Phone for all members of council: 604.514.2800
- Mail: Mayor and Council, 20399 Douglas Crescent, Langley BC V3A 4B3
- General City hall hours, per the City’s meetings page: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Individual councillors’ email addresses are published on the City’s council page. We’ll point you there instead of copying them, because the new council’s addresses weren’t posted when we checked.
The opinion vote
Alongside the election, the City ran a non-binding Community Opinion Vote with three questions. The City’s results page shows the following:
- Al Anderson Memorial Pool expansion: Yes 59.2% (2,878), No 40.8% (1,984)
- Timms Community Centre expansion with a performing arts and cultural centre: Yes 42.9% (2,080), No 57.1% (2,774)
- Expanding both facilities: Yes 35.4% (1,688), No 64.6% (3,082)
“Non-binding” means council isn’t required to act on the result, which is why the City calls it an opinion vote.
Seeing council in action
Regular council meetings are at 7:00 pm in the Council Chambers, and you can watch online or ask to speak. Everything is on our how to attend a council meeting page.
